Do you have fruit trees that bear more than you can use, or do you have an abundance of something you planted in your garden? That's what Merced Shares is here for. It's a produce co-op for those who'd like to share from the bounty of their yards, and receive as well!

Here's How it Works:
To sign up or for more information, please send an email to: mercedshares@yahoo.com
Each month you will receive an email about the next exchange date-always a Saturday. If you would like to participate, send an email back with what you have available to share from your yard-fruit, vegetables, herbs or flowers. Drop off your harvest at the designated location by noon, and later that day you will receive a share of all the items that were brought in.
It's just that simple, and it's FREE!
We hope to reduce and/or eliminate:
-wasted or rotting produce
-needless trips to the grocery store
-excess bags used to haul stuff from the grocery store
-fuel used to go to the store
-fuel used to truck in/fly in produce
We hope that being involved will promote:
-getting to know our neighbors
-cooking with fresh, local ingredients
-sharing and generosity
-smiles!

ReplyDeleteI am for trying things like this, that are different, to break molds...
And right now I am trying to bring a product to the market, that is something I do besides the books, where I am trying to change a process and some people would be wary, like this idea of your, but why not, it you have something you are not going to use, share it!1
